Paedophile pensioner

A PAEDOPHILE pensioner was caught with nearly 50 indecent images of children, including some on his mobile phone, a court heard.

Graham Hunt, aged 72, appeared at Plymouth Crown Court having previously pleaded guilty to nine counts of possessing child pornography.

Most of the images were in category four, the second most serious.

Hunt, of Miles Mitchell Avenue, Eggbuckland, had already been put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Judge Paul Darlow told him: “Your previous convictions make depressing reading. You have an entrenched recidivist attitude.”

He sentenced Hunt to three years of supervision by the Probation Service, ordered him to complete the Thames Valley Programme for sex offenders and banned him from any work or activity with under-18s.

Judge Darlow warned Hunt that any breaches would result in coming back before him and a likely 12-month jail term.

A PENSIONER has been warned that he could face jail when he is sentenced next month for possessing indecent images of children.

Graham Hunt, aged 71, pleaded guilty to nine counts of possessing child pornography when he appeared yesterday at Plymouth Crown Court.

Hunt, of Miles Mitchell Avenue, Eggbuckland, had nearly 50 images, including some on his mobile phone.

Most of the images were in category four, the second highest level of seriousness.

The court heard that Hunt is already on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Judge Paul Darlow ordered a full report from the Probation Service, but warned Hunt all options remain open when he is sentenced on April 5. He was released on unconditional bail.
