Paedophile freed early from jail for raping 13-month-old girl is jailed for vile child abuse images

A baby rapist caught with a large hoard of child abuse images after being freed early from jail is back behind bars.

James Taylor was caught in August last year after his son and daughter discovered the images on a laptop.

Taylor had earlier been released from prison having been locked up for photographing himself whilst he committed a horrific sex attack on a 13-month-old girl. He had also taken indecent pictures of a girl of six.

A leading psychologist once claimed he was at low risk of re-offending, but the 53-year-old is now back in jail after he was sentenced to 12 months at the High Court in Glasgow.

He had earlier pled guilty to being in possession of indecent photos and films. Taylor originally hit the headlines back in 2003 after he admitted raping the baby girl.

A judge caused a public outcry when he only jailed for him for five years, a sentence which was later increased to eight years by the appeal court.

He was freed in May 2008 and Taylor moved to Mellonsplace Farm in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, where his parents also lived.

The latest police probe came to light after Taylor’s son visited in June last year and found him using a laptop.

He was aware his father was a registered sex offender and was not allowed to access the internet.

Prosecutor Murdoch MacTaggart told the court: “The accused’s possession of a laptop was discussed among his three children, who were all concerned about what use he may be putting it to.

“On August 4, the son and one of his sisters decided to check and found a laptop in Taylor’s bedroom.”

Mr MacTaggart said: “On accessing it, they found it contained a large number of indecent images of children. The son and daughter removed the laptop and contacted the police.”

Taylor was later detained, but told police: “I wish I knew what this was all about. I’ve done nothing wrong.”

Tests on the laptop found 5240 still indecent images along with 464 film clips.

Taylor’s latest crime followed a psychologist’s claim at the rape case that he was at low risk of offending.

Dr Gary MacPherson provided a pre-sentencing report at the time to Lord Reed following a meeting with Taylor.

The judge said in 2003: “I have a report from one of Scotland’s leading forensic psychologists. who formed the view that your viewing of pornography compromised your moral boundaries.”

Lord Reed claimed the five-year sentence he imposed would have been longer, but for Dr MacPherson’s assessment.

At the court of appeal last week, Taylor was ordered to serve 12 months of the rape sentence he was freed early from.

The one-year term for the child abuse images offence will start at the end of that sentence.

Paedophile freed early from jail for raping a 13-month-old girl is caught with haul of vile child abuse images

A PAEDOPHILE freed early after raping a baby has been caught with thousands of child abuse images.

James Taylor, who had attacked a 13-month-old girl, was held last August having been released from prison.

Police swooped on a farm in Falkirk where Taylor was living after his grown-up son and daughter found indecent images on a laptop.

He’s now back in jail after admitting a charge of being in possession of indecent images and films and is due to be sentenced next month.

In 2003, the 53-year-old admitted raping the baby girl.

Judge Lord Reed caused a public outcry when he only jailed him for five years after a psychologist said he probably would not offend again.

His sentence was later increased to eight years by the appeal court and he was ordered to be supervised for a further five years on his release.

But the High Court in Glasgow last week heard he was freed in 2008.

Taylor moved to Mellonsplace Farm in Falkirk, where his parents lived.

The latest police probe came to light after Taylor’s son visited in June last year and found him using a laptop.

He was aware his father was a registered sex offender and was not allowed to access the internet.

On August 4, the son and one of his sisters found a laptop in Taylor’s bedroom. They contacted police after discovering he had downloaded illegal images.

Taylor was detained but told police: “I wish I knew what this was about. I’ve done nothing wrong.”

Tests found 5240 indecent images on the laptop and 464 film clips. One appeared to show Taylor abusing a three-year-old girl.

He could face a life sentence for his latest offence.

Taylor will return to the dock next month when Judge Lord Stewart will decide whether to call for further reports with a view to imposing an Order for Lifelong Restriction.

Baby rapist freed early from jail

A SEX beast who photographed himself raping a baby girl has been freed from jail — and is living next to a family holiday park.

Vile James Taylor, 48, was sentenced to just five years for attacking the tot, abusing another youngster and amassing over 3,000 sick images of child porn.

The lenient sentence sparked public outrage — and after 75,000 Scottish Sun readers demanded his sentence be increased, it was raised to eight years on appeal.

But just 40 months after he was caged, the pervert dubbed “the most reviled man in Scotland” is living in his parents’ farmhouse near Avon Glen, Stirlingshire.

And in a sickening twist, his new home is just yards from a chalet park, complete with kids’ play area, where owner Dorothy Seaton insisted: “There is nothing to worry about — there is no danger at all.”

Taylor’s bolthole is owned by his parents William and Dorothy.

We watched as he helped out on their farm and tidied their garden before stopping for lunch. But last night, dad-of-three Taylor fled inside when he was confronted by The Scottish Sun. His mother assured us he was just visiting the area — a claim vehemently denied by our sources.

She said: “He has been out for a wee while now and his social worker is happy with him — he’s visiting us today, he doesn’t live here. It’s pure luck you got him today – he doesn’t even live in the Central region.

She added: “He doesn’t want to talk because you really crucified him at the time.”

When asked if he has ever shown any remorse for his sick crimes, she closed the door.

Holiday park boss Seaton — who answered to the surname Taylor — refused to deny she was related to the fiend. She said: “It’s nothing to do with you whether he is my brother. We know the person very well, the neighbours know him too. There’s no danger at all.”

When asked if her customers knew that a dangerous paedophile was staying nearby, she refused to comment.

Taylor was jailed in August 2003 after he was snared during a Metropolitan Police investigation into internet child porn.

Central Scotland cops who raided his home found 2,880 indecent images of kids. Most had been downloaded from the internet.

However, experts also found horrific pictures of Taylor raping a baby girl — thought to be aged 13 months — and more of a six-year-old girl lying naked in bed.

The beast later admitted rape, indecency and child porn charges at the High Court in Dunfermline. All of the offences were committed between August 1998 and December last year at Taylor’s home in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire.

Judge Lord Reed was slammed by kids’ charities and politicians after originally handing out a soft sentence which could have seen twisted Taylor back on our streets in just two years.

But after a Scottish Sun campaign, the Crown appealed the decision and Appeal Court judges added three years to the sentence.

He has now been freed under a five-year supervision order.

Last night, campaigner Sandra Brown, of the Moira Anderson Foundation — which supports victims of sexual abuse — said the pervert’s choice of home was shocking.

She went on: “If ever there was a case that highlights how ridiculous early release is, this is it.

“Of course he behaved in jail – he didn’t have access to children inside.

“Now he has easy access to kids any time he wants — and his family and the park owners are complicit in this.

Five-year sentence for baby rape

A five-year prison sentence on a paedophile who took pictures of himself raping a 13-month-old baby has been condemned by Scottish politicians and children’s charities.

They say James Taylor, 43, should have been jailed for life. Last night the lord advocate called for a report on the sentence and the crown counsel will consider an appeal.

Taylor, a father of three from Grangemouth in Stirlingshire, was caught after the Metropolitan police child protection group was told that he had been posting child pornography on the internet.

When his home was raided the police found more than 2,000 indecent images of children, including graphic pictures of Taylor raping the baby girl, estimated to be 13 months old. He had also taken indecent pictures of a girl of six. Both children were said to have stayed over from time to time at Taylor’s home.

Yesterday at the high court in Dunfermline the judge, Lord Reed, told Taylor he would have been jailed for much longer had it not been for a psychologist’s report assessing there was only a low risk of him reoffending.

Lord Reed drew a link between Taylor’s use of pornography and the offences he had committed.

“It is often said there is no link between the viewing of pornography and sexual offending, but in this case that appears to be clearly refuted,” he said.

Taylor had pleaded guilty to raping the baby girl, indecency towards the six-year-old, and possessing indecent images.
