Man jailed for raping teenagers (serious threat to all females)

A bodybuilder who raped and assaulted two teenagers, making one of them pregnant, has been jailed for 12 years.

Simon Woods, 35, of Grasscroft, Brinnington, Stockport, attacked a 17-year-old girl in 2000, and a 16-year-old girl in 2003.

Woods admitted rape, indecent assault, attempted rape and assault at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

The court heard the 17-year-old tried to kill herself after Woods beat her when he found out she had an abortion.

Jailing him, Judge Stuart Fish said: “You have caused unknown and untold damage for the future for both girls.

“You knew all along your behaviour and approach was totally inappropriate and wrong.

“That behaviour led your first victim to severe problems – an abortion and the trauma of that – and the unfortunate attempt to take her own life.”

Suicide bid

The court heard his first victim, the eldest girl, had screamed and tried to fight him off but could not get away.

Prosecutor Joanna Rodikis told the court: “On 8 May 2000 the girl had an abortion.

“It was the defendant’s child as there had been no-one else. When he found out he kicked her in the stomach.”

Soon afterwards, the victim tried to take her own life.

The second victim was attacked in late 2003.

Woods had told her he “wanted to take her virginity” .

When she cried out in pain as she was being attacked, Woods told her to smile and look as if she was enjoying herself.

He also kicked and punched her, and banged her head against a wall.

He was caught after the girl confided in a friend and the police were called.

The court was also there had been an earlier attack when he touched the breasts of a 15-year-old girl, although this was not the subject of the charges.

Steroids claim

After his arrest, Woods tried to blame his girlfriend for the attacks, saying she did not love him and “just spent his money”.

It was claimed Woods was obsessed about bodybuilding because he felt inferior because he was a small man.

He had taken large amounts of steroids which had made him “aggressive”, his defence counsel told the court.

Woods was told that, on his release, he will be monitored and supervised until 2019.

He was also banned from working with children and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
