Paedophile is arrested at airport

A sex offender who has been missing for eight months has been arrested.

Kamil Krawiec, 26, was given a 10-month suspended prison term in April for attacking an eight-year-old boy in the toilets of a restaurant in 2005.

He was meant to be supervised by the probation service but disappeared from his address in Hackney, east London.

Police said he was held at Stansted Airport on Thursday afternoon. He was remanded into custody when he appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Sexual Offences Act

He was charged with offences relating to not complying with the court order, namely failing to register where he was living under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Polish-born Krawiec pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the boy in a restaurant on 9 December 2005 where he was working as a waiter.

The child, who was having a meal with his family, had been attacked after he went to the restaurant’s toilets by himself.

Krawiec had also admitted to a charge of voyeurism after staff at Victoria train station in London saw him looking into a toilet cubicle at a 15-year-old boy.
