Maidstone paedophile jailed after cops uncover online child porn collection
A PAEDOPHILE who pretended to be a 15-year-old boy while amassing a sickening collection of child pornography has today been jailed for 18 months.
Graham Ree Davis used internet chat rooms to direct others to his online collection of indecent images and videos, mainly featuring the abuse of boys aged between 10 and 17 years old.
The 27-year-old, of Wheeler Street in Maidstone, was arrested in June 2010 after Kent Police’s public protection unit executed a search warrant at his home.
A computer and a number of media disks were seized and forensic examination uncovered more than 3,500 indecent images as well as movie clips totalling more than 43 hours.
Posing as a child online, Davis allowed other perverts to access this vast archive in exchange for submitting their images of abuse to be uploaded to his vile collection.
He was subsequently charged with seven counts of distribution of indecent images, seven counts of making indecent images and five counts of possession of indecent images with a view to distribute. He pleaded guilty to all 19 charges at a hearing on March 20.
Detective Constable Mikaela Stevens, a member of the unit responsible for bringing the 27-year-old to justice, said: “Davis made it quite clear he was happy to share his sickening collection with like-minded individuals.
“It is obvious he had no concept of the possibility that he was encouraging child abuse by doing so, and I am glad that the public protection crime unit has been able to put a stop to his activities. We will continue to try and identify those who he distributed images to, and ensure they are investigated.”
As a result of the investigation into Davis’ activities another man has been arrested overseas and is currently on bail pending analysis of computer equipment.
At his sentencing at Maidstone Crown Court today, Davis was also made subject to a sex offenders prevention order for 10 years and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the same period.
