Runcorn paedophile jailed

A PAEDOPHILE who took indecent pictures of a five-year-old girl has been jailed for two years.

Dean Johnson, aged 40, of Grangemoor, Runcorn, admitted possessing 321 indecent images along with various charges of taking, possessing and making indecent photographs.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing five extremely pornographic images.

He was sentenced at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

Judge Thomas Teague, said the most serious aspect of the case was that he took indecent photographs of a five-year-old girl, whilst babysitting with another person.

Johnson took some of the pictures on his mobile phone and downloaded others from his computer.

Johnson, who has no previous convictions, said the images were for his own gratification. He did not show them to anyone.

He is prohibited of being alone with any child under 16, other than a member of his family and must have the permissioin of the child’s parent or guardian.

He is banned from possessing a computer, mobile phone or having access to the internet, without first notifying a police officer, on his release from prison.

He is not allowed within 15 metres of a school or playground.

He will be on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and he is banned from working with children or vulnerable adults.
