Computer child porn man gets two months

A computer salesman who distributed child pornography on the internet has been jailed for two months.

Andrew Pearson, 23, was caught after trying to trade two pictures with an undercover policeman in Germany, Basildon magistrates heard.

The officer who picked up the internet images of young girls, immediately contacted Essex Police.

Pearson was later arrested at his home in Saxon Close, Wickford, said prosecutor Mandy McLean.

She said one of the images was of a girl, aged between four and six, and another of a child of between six and eight. She said when Essex Police were given the tip-off they searched Pearson’s property and seized his computer and equipment.

In an interview Pearson, the manager of a firm which deals in computers, admitted being responsible for sending the images to Germany. His solicitor, Angus Mathieson, said Pearson was a man of previous good character.

He said: “It was a one-off case. It was a piece of foolishness on his part and it has left him devastated.”

Pearson, who is single, pleaded guilty to distributing indecent photos of children. He was remanded on bail pending an appeal against the jail sentence.
