A MAN who raped a teenager he met on social networking website Facebook after lying about his age was jailed for seven years yesterday.
James Edward Dunn, 28, of Elmhurst Gardens, Hemlington was already on the sex offenders’register for attacking a woman when he lured the 16-year-old to a meeting close to Ormesby Hall, near Middlesbrough, and dragged her into woods.
The girl, who had wanted to leave immediately because she realised Dunn was drunk, was screaming during her attempts to get away, said Aisha Wadoodi, prosecuting.
After Dunn had raped the girl, an ordeal which lasted about 20 minutes, he said if she told anyone he would kill her, Teesside Crown Court was told.
Months earlier, Dunn arranged a date with a 15-yearold girl he met on Facebook.
He touched her sexually over her clothes after buying two litres of Lambrini and taking her to a churchyard.
Dunn was claiming to be as young as 19 in his Facebook chats with young girls, which he had been doing for five years.
He denied the rape, last August, but a Teesside Crown Court jury found him guilty in June, after which he was remanded in custody awaiting a psychiatric report.
