Child porn images on man’s PC

POLICE found more than 161,300 images of child pornography after searching a man’s computer, Grimsby Crown Court heard.

Robert Myhill, 58, of Wellington Street, Grimsby, admitted seven offences of making indecent images of children and another of producing cannabis.

Mark Kendall, prosecuting, said police received information from the child exploitation and onlineprotection centre that Myhill had been using certain websites.

A warrant was executed at his home on May 18 last year and 161,367 child pornography images were found. Three large cannabis plants were discovered in a bedroom. Dried cannabis material was in a carrier bag. Myhill admitted downloading images for about five years.

Simon Hirst, mitigating, said Myhill increased his cannabis use after losing a stressful job 15 years ago. He began looking at adult photographs and it progressed to children. He felt disgusted with himself and became isolated.

Myhill, who had no previous convictions, was jailed for 21 months and was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years.
