43-year-old swapped indecent images over the internet

UNEMPLOYED Mark Allcock has been given a three-year supervision order after making and distributing indecent photographs of children.

The 43-year-old had a total of 28 images on his mobile phone between August 2008 and September 2010. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court was told yesterday Allcock had started to visit internet chatrooms where he would swap the images with other people.

He was arrested at Alton Towers on September 28 following a police investigation.

The images were of children aged between six and nine years old who were wearing bathing suits and underwear.

Nicola Bell, defending Allcock, of Fountain Street, Leek, said: “He has resigned from a job which he loved and accepts he needs to understand why it was that he took this course of action, to prevent it from happening again.”

Allcock was also put on the sex offenders’ register for five years and told by the court he must attend a community sex offender group programme.
