Man blamed child porn find on his partner

A 27-YEAR-OLD has been jailed for 12 months for making indecent photographs of children.

Salim Fatehi was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court yesterday after being found guilty by a jury following a trial.

The court heard he was found with a total of 88 images, said to be for his personal use, at Madeley in 2009.

Thirty-five of them were at level one, the least serious, one was at level five, the worst.

Judge Granville Styler said aggravating features of the case were that Fatehi tried to blame his partner during the trial and that pictures were accessed on a computer used by an eight-year-old child.

Soheil Khan, mitigating, said: “He isn’t someone that has shown these images to others. There are people that speak well of him.”

Judge Styler disqualified Fatehi from working with children and said he will be on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Credit will be given for the 72 days Fatehi, of Clay Street, Halifax, has already spent in prison.

He is expected to serve no more than half his sentence.
