Child porn viewer is told: You face prison

A FATHER who kept up to 10,000 pornographic images of children on his computer was warned he faced a jail sentence.

Christopher Jones, 38, of Bracken Edge, Bradford, admitted 20 charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Police raided his home in November last year as part of the worldwide Operation Ore investigation into an internet child porn scandal, Dewsbury magistrates were told.

Officers found between 8,000 and 10,000 images of children in indecent poses.

There were film clips of children as young as three being abused and raped.

Prosecutor Stephen Gration said the fact that Jones had an 11-year-old daughter in the house was an aggravating feature of the investigation.

Mr Gration said: “She slept in the same room as where some of the images were stored and she had access and use of a computer but there is no evidence to show that she had seen these images.”

Some of the pictures included children being bound and another showed a young girl wearing a dog collar with spikes on it. Other children were shown to be in distress.

Magistrates chairman Norman Brown said: “This offence is so serious that we are unable to sentence you.

“You must go to Crown Court for sentencing, where you face a sentence higher than we have the power to commit.”

Jones, who was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register, lunged at press photographers as he left the court.
