A TWISTED Scout leader had a sickening stash of child porn he shared with other perverts online.
Former college janitor Edward Kerr — who spent 14 years working with youngsters — was snared by detectives probing a paedophile ring which hacked into a social networking site.
When they raided his home in Ayr, officers discovered almost 14,000 indecent pictures of boys as young as six-months-old.
Kerr, 48, admitted possessing and sharing the vile pictures when he appeared at the town’s sheriff court.
A hearing was told how officers from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre discovered the perverts’ network hacked into London-based site SocialGo to exchange sleazy snaps.
The investigators identified Kerr as one of the contributors through his IP address and passed the information to police in Ayr. Cops who swooped on his flat seized electronic gear, including laptops. hard drives, iPads and 30 mobile phones.
Prosecutor Ziad Hassan said: “They asked if there were any computers containing indecent images of children in his flat. The accused answered, ‘Not that I am aware of’.”
Mr Hassan said when two of the laptops, hard drives and a pen drive were examined, 13,777 images were found, including 204 at the highest level of depravity. He added: “The images were almost exclusively of male children aged between six months and 15-years-old.”
Kerr was put on the sex offenders’ register and sentence was deferred for reports. He was also banned from being alone with children.
Last night horrified Scout leaders confirmed they had kicked out the pervert. Simon Carter, assistant director of The Scout Association, said: “As soon as we were aware of the charges against Kerr he was suspended from all contact with members of the movement. The safety of our youth members is our No1 priority.”
