Convicted Dudley child sex offender caught with more sickening images

A CONVICTED Dudley child sex offender has been allowed to keep his freedom after he was caught with more sickening pornographic photographs of youngsters.

Judge Amjad Nawaz ruled it was in the best interests of the public for Adrian Compton to receive treatment for his “deep rooted problems” than face a short spell behind bars.

But he warned the 50 year-old it was definitely his last chance adding: “If you do not throw your weight behind this new order then the only sentence that remains is imprisonment.”

Compton of Salop Street was given a three year jail term at Worcester Crown Court in 2009 for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images of children.

He was also given a sexual offenders protection order and was still on licence when police carried out an unannounced visit to his home.

Compton was seen to remove a video from his machine and when it was played, said Mr Mark Rees prosecuting, it was found to contain 58 indecent images of children at level one.

There were three images at level two, two at level three and three at level four – the next worst category – while officers also recovered two movies – one at level one and the other at level two.

After he was arrested, Mr Rees told Wolverhampton Crown Court, he immediately told the officers, “I have had a relapse.”

Compton said he had been accessing the internet for the images which were for his sexual gratification.

Mr Gurdeep Garcha defending said Compton was recalled to prison after his arrest and had spent eight months in custody. adding: “He has problems that need addressing.”

He told the court that Compton felt the support he had been receiving since his last arrest had not been enough and his problems remained.

The judge placed Compton on supervision for three years, ordered him to attend the sex offenders programme and made a new sexual offenders protection order.
