Convicted paedophile facing prison

A SEX offender who was jailed in 2007 for having more than 2,000 indecent images of children faces prison again, a court heard.

Christopher Mellows, 37, of Gladstone Court, Scunthorpe, admitted not complying with two requirements of being on the sex offenders’ register.

Mellows was jailed for 15 months in 2007.

Deborah Gibson, prosecuting, said Mellows had failed to register an address in Cleethorpes at which he spent more than seven days in the last 12 months.

He had also been living with two under 18s.

North Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court heard Mellows had been living at the address most weekends and had been alone with the two girls for a number of hours.

Sunil Dhinsa, mitigating, said Mellows accepted his wrongdoing and had co-operated with the police.

Up to 12 months custody could be imposed by magistrates for the offences.

Magistrates ordered an all-options pre-sentence report and adjourned the case until Monday, April 8.
