Pervert had thousands of indecent images of children

A WOLLATON man today admitted possessing thousands of indecent images – including one of a person having sex with a dog.

Paul Devenport, 54, of Firbeck Road, pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to having an extreme pornographic image of a person performing intercourse with an animal, which was “grossly offensive”, on June 28 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to four more charges, where he made 4,635 indecent photographs of children, between January 8 and June 28 last year. He admitted possessing 4,635 indecent photographs of children on the same date.

Devenport had a number of images on five video tapes, the court heard.

Judge Michael Stokes QC, Nottingham’s resident judge, adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the Probation Service.

Devenport, who wore glasses and a grey suit and tie in court, was granted bail with the condition he make and keep an appointment with a probation officer.

Sentencing was adjourned to April 19.

Judge Stokes said: “The fact I am giving you bail shouldn’t be taken by you as any indication of sentence.”
