Man, 59 jailed for indecent assault on schoolgirls

A MAN has been jailed for a total of 30 months after being found guilty of indecently assaulting two teenage girls.

Peter Flint, 59, formerly of Holyhead Road, Coventry, has been disqualified from working with children and will have to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period to be decided upon his release from prison.

A jury at Coventry Crown Court yesterday found Flint guilty of four counts of indecent assault on one girl aged under 16, and guilty of a fifth count of indecent assault on a girl under 15.

The charges all date back to the 1970s.

The jury unanimously cleared him of two counts of rape and two charges of indecently assaulting a teenage boy.

On the judge’s directions, they were also ordered to clear Flint of three further counts of rape due to lack of evidence.

Flint was jailed for 18 months for the first four counts of indecent assault, to run concurrently, and a further 12 months for the fifth count, to run consecutively.
