Rapist jailed for 12 years for assault on 13-year-old girl
A rapist who used alcohol and promises of mobile phone credits to entice a 13-year-old girl into performing sex acts with him has been jailed for 12 years.
Jonathan Legrys, aged 46, of Northampton, was convicted by majority verdicts at Northampton Crown Court today after a jury deliberated for more than 10 hours.
He denied rape, exposure and sexual activity with a child, claiming the abuse had never happened, and showed no emotion as he was jailed and put on the sex offenders’ register for life.
Passing sentence, Recorder Adrian Redgrave QC said Legrys had taken advantage of a vulnerable girl during a difficult time in her life.
The girls’ parents, who cannot be named to protect her identity, said: “We’re overwhelmed and just pleased his lies have finally caught up with him.”
