Man, 40, jailed for sex assault on girl

A SEX offender who admitted having sick fantasies has been jailed for five years by a judge at Coventry Crown Court.

Noel Faulkner, of Hillfields, Coventry, had pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl.

The court was told how the teenage victim was visiting Faulkner’s flatmate at their shared bedsit, in May last year.

Faulkner, aged 40, invited the girl into his bedroom area, which wasn’t a separate room but a curtained-off section.

The victim told police she had lain down on the bed because she had a headache and that the defendant had said “nice things” to her.

Faulkner got on top of her and put his hand inside her trousers.

Two months later, the victim told Faulkner’s flatmate what had happened and he advised her to tell the police.

The court heard that Faulkner had previous convictions for similar offences, including one for sexual assault against a nine-year-old girl and for sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.

Judge Richard Cole was also told that in interviews with psychiatrists and probation officers, Faulkner had admitted harbouring fantasies about the rape and murder of children.

Sentencing Faulkner to five years imprisonment, Judge Cole said he should not be considered for parole until 2½ years had passed.
