A 65-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment at Oxford Crown Court today (17/5) for sexual offences against four underage girls.
Anthony Sydney Ford of Magpie Road, Sulgrave, Oxfordshire, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, with two girls aged seven and 13.
He was found guilty by unanimous jury of seven counts of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child and one count of sexual intercourse with a child, relating to a further two girls, between the ages of six and 14.
The offences took place in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire, between November 1980 and April 2012. Ford was charged on 20 July 2012.
He has been sentenced to 12 years in prison and has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
Investigating officer, Det Con Natalie Thompson of Banbury Police Station said: “I would like to commend the victims for their courage in coming forward, which was extremely difficult for them. “Thames Valley Police takes reports of child abuse extremely seriously and will fully investigate all allegations presented to us.”
