Paedophile who made schoolgirl victim give evidence is put away
A LYING paedophile who forced his young victim to give evidence against him has been jailed by the Royal Court.
Kenneth Holberry, 55, was sent down for four-and-a-half years. It was his second offence.
Holberry was convicted in December when the jurats unanimously found him guilty.
Sentencing, Judge Russell Finch said Holberry’s not guilty plea to an offence he had committed forced the 11-year-old victim to give evidence via a live video link, which must have been an ordeal.
Man guilty of indecent assault on 11-year-old
THE Royal Court yesterday found a man guilty of indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
Kenneth Holberry, 55, who was remanded in custody, will be sentenced next month.
Crown Advocate Gary Perry told the court how the defendant had been convicted of an identical offence in 1990.
On that occasion he had been fined £200 and a two months prison sentence, suspended for two years, had been imposed.
Holberry had argued in evidence that he was being ‘fitted up’ for the crime.
After some 45 minutes of deliberation, presiding jurat Susan Mowbray told the Court that it had found Holberry guilty by a unanimous decision.
