Predatory paedophile locked up for 10 years

Steven Goodwin

A predatory paedophile who lured young boys into his home to sexually abuse them has been caged for 10 years.

Steven Goodwin (31) targeted three victims as young as 10 in Werrington/Peterborough, even filming the abuse for his own gratification.

Detectives also found a vast collection of indecent images of youngsters on his mobile phone and computer, which he was distributing to others.

Today Goodwin, who has previous convictions for abusing boys, was locked up for 10 years and four months at Peterborough Crown Court after admitting a string of offences.

The court heard he had plied his victims with cigarettes and alcohol.

He abused one youngster, aged just 10 in 2009, for four years, until he was uncovered when he uploaded an indecent image of one his victims onto Facebook.

Sentencing,Judge Patrick Moloney said: “It is perfectly clear from all the evidence that you are a predatory paedophile, a man who targets young people under the age of 16, and exploits them for your own pleasure.”

Goodwin, whose address was given in court as HMP Peterborough, had pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault on one of the boys, when he was aged between 10 and 13, three counts of sexual assault on another boy, aged 13, and one count of touching another teen, aged 15.

He also admitted one count of taking photos of the 13 year old, two counts off making, two counts of possession and one count of distributing indecent images, one count of possession of a prohibited image, relating to a cartoon, and one of possession of an extreme image
