Man had indecent images of children

A HUDDERSFIELD company director has escaped a jail sentence for possessing child porn.

Patrick David Kear, 31, of Somerset Road, Almondbury, had pleaded guilty earlier to 20 charges of downloading child porn from the internet.

The charges related to the most serious images out of a total of more than 1,300 indecent photos of children found on Kear’s computer and disks.

Five of the photos were classed as level four – the second most serious. Most were at level one or two.

The photos showed children aged between six and 14, some performing indecent acts with adult men.

Kear was given a three-year community rehabilitation order by Dewsbury magistrates.

He has also been put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years and will attend a treatment programme.

Mr Stephen Gration, prosecuting, said police found the images were found at Kear’s former home in Wakefield.

Police raided the property on December 18, 2002, as part of Operation Ore.
