Delivery driver jailed for sex attack on teenager

A DELIVERY driver from Burry Port has been jailed after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a teenager.

Takeaway delivery driver David Brian Dunlevy, 51, had denied sexual activity with a child.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and was told he will have to sign as a sex offender for 10 years when he is released.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, reported the assaults to nursing staff last year while she was receiving medical treatment.

Dunlevy had touched her breasts and thighs, Swansea Crown Court heard during his trial.

She told the jury that Dunlevy, from Colby Road, touched her over her clothes, before running his hand up her back, putting his arm around her and using his hand to touch her breasts. She said he had put his hand under her bra and touched her before running his hand around the hem of her trousers and touching the inside of her leg.

She also said he gave her “lingering” kisses. “His fingers were across my back and across my bottom. His hands would touch my back and my waist,” she told the jury. The teen told the jury she “didn’t like it” but was too scared to say anything.

“It felt weird,” she said.

Dunlevy had worked for Llanelli Kebab Shop, Marmaris and Yummy’s, the jury was told.

He had told police in his interview he did not know why the allegations were being made against him. During his trial, he repeatedly denied the assaults and another for which he was convicted in 2003.

Dunlevy was convicted of indecent assault in 2003 but told the jury he had only pleaded guilty to that offence because his barrister had told him to.

Judge Keith Thomas sentenced him to 18 months in prison
