Child abuse images found on laptop of Grimsby man

POLICE found hundreds of indecent images of children after searching a man’s laptop, Grimsby Crown Court heard.

Alan Meulbrouck, 48, of Willingham Street, Grimsby, admitted making 782 indecent images of children between December 2009 and December last year.

Jeremy Evans, prosecuting, said police found the images after searching Meulbrouck’s home following information from online protection investigators. They had been deleted.

Andrew Bailey, mitigating, said it was a small number of images and most of them were at the lowest level. Meulbrouck had no previous convictions.

Recorder Euan Duff told Meulbrouck: “The more people who observe images of this sort, the more it encourages real children, real people to be abused in order to have these images taken.

“If there weren’t viewing of these images, there would likely be less abuse of these children.”

Unemployed Meulbrouck was given a three-year supervision order, including a sex offenders’ treatment programme, a five-year sexual offences prevention order and must register as a sex offender for five years.
