Caithness heir on sex register

The son of the Earl of Caithness was placed on the sex offenders register after he admitted having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Alexander Berriedale, 23, of Barrock, near Thurso the heir to the title, was seen having sexual intercourse at a beauty spot in the Highlands. The sheriff court in Wick was told that he was still friendly with the girl, now 16, who was in court to support him.

Berriedale, who has the title Lord Berriedale, was put on probation for a year and required to undertake a sex offenders’ awareness programme. He was also ordered to donate £500 to a pregnancy crisis centre.
