Paedophile jailed for child sexual offences

A Woking man has been jailed for 27 months for sexual offences relating to grooming a 12 year old girl and making indecent images of children

David Cornish who worked at McLarens in Woking, pleaded guilty at Guildford crown court of two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 years of age to engage in sexual activity and seven counts of making indecent photographs of a child

Cornish, who was in his early 50’s, was also known by his friends as Shirley. He was sentenced to 23 months imprisonment for the two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 years of age to engage in sexual activity, and 4 months concurrent for making indecent photographs of a child. In total 27 months imprisonment

The indecent images found on Cornish’s computer were not that of the key witness in this trial

The judge also issued Cornish with a number of orders/restrictions:

  1. 10 years sexual offences prevention order

  2. Register on the sex offenders register for 10 years

  3. To pay £513 costs to the crown prosecution service

  4. Banned from any unsupervised contact or communication of any kind with a female under the age of 16 years old

  5. Living the same household of any female under the age of 16 years old, unless with the approvement of his risk management officer

  6. Banned from any contact directly or indirectly with the victim

  7. Owning or possessing a mobile phone 

  8. Banned from using the internet

  9. Possessing any device capable of storing digital images
