Caernarfon man jailed for sexual activity with 13-year-old boy
A MAN who walked into Caernarfon police station to confess was yesterday (Wednesday) jailed for 32 months for sexual activity with a boy of 13.
Mathew Lee Jones, 24, of Cefn Hendre, Caernarfon, was told by a judge that although his confession was “admirable” the offences had serious consequences for the victim, “which for all we know, continue.”
It happened in 2012 and Judge Michael Burr said at Caernarfon crown court : “I can’t overlook the disparity in your ages.”
Jones, who pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child, must register as a sex offender for ten years.
A Sexual Offences Prevention Order bans him from unsupervised contact with anyone under 16.
