Paedophile jailed for indecently assaulting young girl on multiple occasions

A paedophile from Llanelli has been jailed for a total of four years after being found guilty of sexual abusing a young girl over a period of two years.

Builder Keri Wayne Thomas, 55 years old of Amanwy, Bryn, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire had originally pleaded not guilty to several child sexual offences but later admitted to two indecent assault on a child charges.

However he continued to protest his innocence on two remaining charges but was found guilty by a jury Swansea Crown Court earlier this month

The court heard that the offences took place around 15-years ago in Llwynhendy in the town of Llanelli.

The victim was aged just nine years old when the first attack took place.

The victim reported Thomas to the police in December 2013.

Keri Thomas faced four charges of indecent assault on a child and was sentenced as follows:

  • Count 1 – Indecent assault on a female child – 4 years imprisonment

  • Count 2 – Indecent assault on a female child – 4 years imprisonment (concurrent)

  • Count 3 – Indecent assault on a female child – 2 years imprisonment (concurrent)

  • Count 4 – Indecent assault on a female child – 2 years imprisonment (concurrent)

Thomas will be required to sign the sex offenders register for life and was also barred from working with children
