Plymouth pervert jailed for watching vile child abuse movies

A PERVERT has been jailed for watching vile videos of young children being sexually abused by adults.

Twisted Craig Forbes, aged 34, viewed clips to fuel his own excitement while taking cocaine and drinking alcohol.

Forbes, a company director, watched children aged between two and five being sexually abused by adults, Plymouth Crown Court heard.

Jailing him for 20 months, Judge Paul Darlow said: “These movies were watched by you to fuel your sexual excitement along with the cocaine and alcohol you consumed.

“I wonder whether you have stopped to think on the future life of these two, three or four-year-olds being abused and what problems are being stored up for their future.

“These disgusting, revolting images represent the utter degradation of children.”

Forbes, formerly of Reddicliff Close in Plymstock, admitted five counts of making or downloading indecent movies of children on or before May 14. Three were of the most depraved category and two were in the second most serious bracket.

Mike Brown, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said police found the clips on a laptop and a tablet computer belonging to Forbes on May 15.

Emily Cook, for Forbes, said he life had been “shattered” by the offences.

She added he had been a director of a successful business, but had been cut out by his partners.

Miss Cook said: “He has lost his house and moved out of the area. His family has been subject to abuse and comments.

“After he was released by the police, he made a very serious attempt on his life.”

She added that he cut his arm open from his wrist to his elbow and was lucky to survive.

Miss Cook said it would be another 12 months, if at all, before he regains full use of the arm.

She added he was full of remorse and had given up taking drugs.

Forbes must also sign the Sex Offender Register for a decade.
