Paedophile locked up for 11 years after raping schoolgirl

Child rapist Allan Hall has been locked up for 11 years after he regularly abused a schoolgirl over several years.

The 59-year-old was arrested after his victim stood up to him when he tried to sexually assault her last year.

She reported him to police and also told officers he had raped her several years earlier.

Now Hall has been jailed after he was found guilty by a jury of two charges of raping a child under 13; two charges of rape; and attempted sexual assault.

Prosecutor Andrew Jackson told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court that Hall abused the girl on a regular basis.

He said Hall ‘chanced his arm’ with the girl on March 26 last year but she resisted and reported him to police.

The victim has been left feeling anxious but she is trying to put her ordeals behind her.

Hall, formerly of Campbell Terrace, Birches Head, denied all six charges he faced but was convicted of five after a trial last month.

Anis Ali, mitigating, said the defendant still denied the offences.

“I concede the continued protestations in the pre-sentence report does little to assist him,” said Mr Ali.

He added that the repetitive nature of offending was a serious aggravating feature and accepted the only possible sentence was a lengthy period of custody.

Judge David Fletcher said the offending involved grooming.

He told the defendant: “You isolated her. You carried out this behaviour on a regular basis.”

Hall was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which prevents him having unsupervised contact with any girl under the age of 16, until further order of the court.

And he will be on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life.

Hall will serve half the sentence in custody with the rest on licence to the probation service.
