A Caversham man has been sentenced to nearly three years in jail for sexual activity with a child.
Joshua Fastnedge, 21, of Donkin Hill, was found guilty on Friday, September 11 of one count of sexual activity with a child aged 13-15, following a trial at Reading Crown Court.
He was also found guilty of taking a child and removing them from the person lawfully in charge of them.
He was jailed for two years for the first count and eight months for the second.
The offences date back to December 30, 2013 when the victim was reported missing from her home.
She was found with Fastnedge in Reading on New Year’s Day.
A child abduction notice was issued and on January 6 she was again found with Fastnedge after going missing again.
Fastnedge was arrested on January 7 and charged on November 20, 2014.
Detective Constable Jon Nicholls, from Reading police station said: “Fastnedge committed sexual offences against the victim, which he denied, resulting in her having to give evidence in court. I would like to commend the victim for her bravery in doing so.
