Photographer jailed after indecent images of children found on PC

A PROFESSIONAL photographer has been jailed after more than 1,000 indecent child images were found on his computer equipment.

Alan Miller, 58, a married father-of-two, amassed a library of illegal still and moving images that he had downloaded. His offences were committed over an eight-year period, with some of the most serious and graphic images showing youngsters aged just seven.

Miller, of Tindale Fell, Brampton, pleaded guilty to 13 separate counts of making indecent photographs of children at Carlisle Crown Court

He was sentenced to 16 months in prison by Judge Paul Batty QC.

Miller had previously worked for photography studios in both Carlisle and Gretna.

However, the court heard that none of the crimes related to that employment, with all of the illegal images having been downloaded from the internet.

His offences came to light after police searched his home and seized computer equipment from a studio.
