Pervert women’s football coach jailed for abusing under-age schoolgirl in car

A FORMER Scotland women’s football coach has been jailed for two years after abusing a girl of 15 in the back of his car after training.

Hugh Flynn , 52, stripped the child and subjected her to a sex act while giving her a lift home. He had molested her twice before in the car and sent her sexual messages before telling her to delete them

Flynn was a major figure in women’s football in Scotland and once coached the national under-16 and under-21 teams.

But Ayr Sheriff Court heard he was now jobless and on benefits.

He abused the girl in Ayrshire last June while coaching at a club. He denied trying to blame his victim for the attacks.

Flynn, who admitted three charges, was put on the sex offenders register for
10 years and banned from any contact with children under 16, except his own child, after his release.

Euan Dow QC, defending, denied his client was attracted to underage girls and said he was “genuinely remorseful”. A woman wept as Flynn was taken away.

Pervert football coach (51) molested schoolgirl after training

A PERVERT football coach repeatedly molested a 15-year-old girl in a layby after giving her a lift home from a training session.

Hugh Flynn, 51, from Ayr , began texting his victim about extra training sessions, then asked her to send pictures of her body via Facebook.

On the way home from a session he pulled off the busy A77 into a layby near Prestwick Airport before sexually assaulting her.

Married Flynn arranged another meeting, at a supermarket car park in Ayr, and drove her to the same layby and assaulted her again.

During another meeting, Flynn took the girl back to the same layby where he carried out a sex act on her.

His victim then confided in a friend and admitted: “She felt she could not say no to him.”

Flynn has coached some of the game’s top female players including Scotland’s Julie Fleeting, who credited him with helping her make it big at San Diego and Arsenal.

But his reputation has been shattered after he targeted the girl last June, when he was head coach of a club who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Flynn pled guilty at Ayr Sheriff Court to four abuse charges on Tuesday. Not guilty pleas to two other charges were accepted.

Sheriff John Montgomery called for reports before Flynn is sentenced next month.
