Man, 37, pleads guilty to child abuse images charges
A Norton St Philip man admitted a string of offences of downloading child abuse images from the internet when he appeared in court before Somerset Magistrates.
James Alexander Austin, 37, of Tellisford Lane, pleaded guilty to seven separate offences of making an indecent photograph of a child.
He also admitted an eighth offence of downloading a further 115 indecent photographs of children.
All the offences took place at Norton St Philip and were spread across the whole range of categories of seriousness from category A to C and were committed on various dates between January 1, 2014 and February 11, 2015.
After hearing details of the case the magistrates accepted jurisdiction and adjourned the case until November 20 when the defendant must return to the court at Yeovil to be sentenced.
In the interim period they ordered that a pre sentence report must be prepared by the Probation Service.
Until his next court appearance Austin was released on unconditional bail.
