Pervert urged schoolgirl to send him naked photos of herself
A MAN asked a 15-year-old girl to strip for him months after a judge banned him from contacting young girls.
Joseph Johnson was four months into a ban on contacting girls online when he contacted the teenage victim on Instagram.
The 23-year-old got the ban after admitting sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl earlier this year.
But Portsmouth Crown Court heard he sent text messages to the girl, who described herself online as ‘about 16’ asking her to send him naked pictures.
Prosecutor Tammy Mears said: ‘The text itself was concerning to the police because it said that he would be in a state of undress and invited her to do the same.’
Ms Mears added: ‘The victim confirmed that in her bio she thought she hadn’t mentioned age at all, she said she was about 16.
‘Mr Johnson fully accepted someone would only say that if they were below 16.’
The court heard Johnson, of Upper St Michael’s Grove, Fareham, messaged the girl saying she was ‘sexy’ and that he had his top off and she should do the same.
‘She then became uncomfortable with the tone the conversation had taken and had no further contact,’ Ms Mears added.
Judge Ian Pearson said there was an effort to groom the girl and that his actions were totally inappropriate.
He said: ‘You are a risk to adolescent girls.’
The court heard Johnson previously received a three-year community order with a five-year sexual offences prevention order and had to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
Judge Pearson handed him a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He gave him a sexual harm prevention order, banning him from contacting young girls online for 10 years.
He must sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
Judge Pearson said: ‘A close eye has got to be kept on you in case there’s any slippage.
‘The next time you offend you will go to prison.’
Johnson admitted breaching the prevention order on June 13. He committed the two offences of sexual activity with a child in January.
Jason Halsey, defending, said: ‘He has a sexual attraction to young girls.
He added: ‘It’s not something that can be wished away and not something that can disappear in a period of imprisonment.’
Johnson must pay a £180 criminal courts charge.
