Pervert remanded in custody after admitting distributing indecent images of children

A RHYL man has admitted distributing indecent images of children.

Defendant Martin Adrian Johnson, 50, of no fixed abode but who lived in Rhyl, has been further remanded in custody.

Judge Geraint Walters, sitting at Mold Crown Court, warned him that custody was inevitable and that the only question for the court was how long the prison sentence should be.

He appeared at a preliminary hearing today via a live television link from Altcourse prison in Liverpool but he asked that the 17 charges be put to him.

Johnson admitted all charges of making indecent still images and movies by downloading them from the internet, and possessing them.

The court heard it involved 1,032 still images and 925 movies between January 2012 and February of this year.

He admitted possessing extreme still and movie images involving sexual acts between humans and animals. The court was told that he had 583 extreme movies.

Johnson also admitted five charges of distribution of indecent still images which involved girls as young as the age of three.

The judge said that it was a distribution case which meant that custody was inevitable.

He said that he would not order a pre-sentence report but told Johnson that he would re-appear next month for sentence.

Johnson must now register with the police as a sex offender
