Depraved woman jailed for 16 years for vile sex attacks on young girls
A twisted woman who subjected young girls to vile sex attacks has been jailed for 16 years.
Carole Louise Fishburn was branded “wicked, depraved and dangerous” by a judge after a jury found her guilty of a series of offences.
She was convicted of a total of 11 charges including rape, sexual activity with a child, inciting a child into sexual activity, taking and distributing indecent images and child cruelty.
A court heard Fishburn had given one of the youngsters alcohol during one of the offences and made another watch pornography while she abused her.
The 42-year-old, of Lort House, Shieldfield, Newcastle, was locked up for a total of 16 years and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order and ordered to sign the sex offender register indefinitely.
Sentencing her at Newcastle Crown Court, Judge Deborah Sherwin told her: “You are obsessed with sex involving young children.
“Your behaviour was wicked and depraved and the complainants have been deeply affected by it.
“They have been greatly traumatised by what you did to them, each of them suffers graphic flashbacks, panic attacks, anxiety and depression.
“These offences are so serious only a custodial sentence of some length can be justified.
“The pre-sentence report says you pose a very high risk of sexual harm to children and I’m satisfied you are a dangerous offender.”
As Fishburn was jailed, statements from the victims were read to the court.
One of them said: “I continue to suffer flashbacks and panic attacks, which have increased since the trial.
“She has totally ruined my life.”
Another victim added: “I have had daily flashbacks, trouble sleeping and am now virtually a recluse in my own home.
“I feel a bit safer now she’s in prison.”
Fishburn, who denied any wrongdoing, was found guilty after a trial of:
One count of rape
Three of sexual activity with a child
Two of inciting a child into sexual activity
Taking an indecent image
Distributing an indecent image
Three offences of child cruelty.
