Paedophile admits animal porn & child abuse images offences

A PERVERT from Stafford has avoided jail after pleading guilty to seven offences relating to child and animal pornography.

Jonathan Mann, 51, from Bursley Close, admitted five counts of making indecent images of a child and two counts of possession of extremely pornographic images at Stafford Crown Court yesterday.

The pornographic image charges related to images depicting sexual acts, including some with animals.

The indecent images of a child were created between October 21 2006 and July 30, 2015. The pornographic image charge related to offences which occurred on or before July 30, 2015.

Police raided Mann’s home in July, finding five computers containing around 150 indecent videos and 300 images, some which he’d downloaded and some he’d produced himself.

Mann was put on the sexual offenders register for five years, given a three-year probation order, banned from privately accessing the internet, fined £900 in court costs and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge.

The case resulted from work carried out by Staffordshire Police’s Operation Safenet team, which tackles online child abuse.
