Rochdale man jailed for string of sex offences
Justin Bingham from Milnrow has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to:
Two charges of inciting a girl under sixteen to commit an act of gross indecency
One charge of making indecent photo of a child
One charge of possessing an indecent photograph of a child
One charge of producing a controlled drug of class B cannabis
Bingham met the victim at a pub in Rochdale in 2001 when she was aged 14, from this point the pair began to see each other and engaged in a sexual relationship.
Bingham, now 40, would pick the girl up from school before having sex with her over a number of years.
He took indecent pictures of her and recorded them performing sex acts.
The girl became pregnant twice before she was 16.
When interviewed by police, Bingham, of Hurstead Road, Milnrow , said he met the girl after school, but believed she was 16.
He said the girl had an abortion when she was 16, but medical records proved she was 14 at the time.
Police say the ordeal has had a ‘profound’ impact on the victim, which continued for years.
Officers commended her for her bravery in facing him in court to help see him convicted.
