Man avoids prison after grooming schoolgirl for sex

A father of three from York has avoided a prison sentence after he was found guilty of grooming a schoolgirl for sex.

Daniel Foster, 33 of York was found guilty of sexually touching a child aged under 16.

The court heard that Foster met the girl when she was 14-years-old and he was 32. 

During a six month period during 2015, Foster groomed the child with alcohol, gifts and money, and sexual activity followed.

Foster who works as a supervisor in a local Spar shop in York was given 150 hours community service and told he is to pay £500 in costs.

He must also register as a sex offender for a period of five-years.
