72-year-old admits abduction

A 72-year-old man has admitted abducting a girl under the age of 16 years.

Norman Reynolds, of Chapel Road, Thurgarton, near Cromer, Norfolk, pleaded guilty on the basis that there was no sinister or sexual intent, at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday.

The offence took place in Aldborough, Norfolk, on 20 June this year, the court heard.

Reynolds was given unconditional bail while pre-sentence reports are prepared.

He is due to be sentenced on 24 October.

Judge Simon Barham warned him that all sentencing options remained open and that a custodial sentence was possible.
