Man jailed for sexually assaulting teenage girl – Buntingford

A lorry driver, who sexually assaulted a teenage girl when she slept over at a house in Buntingford, was sentenced to 2 years 3 months.

St Albans Crown Court heard that Jason Thomas Bradshaw, aged 46, who had been drinking, had gone into the room at around 4am where the girl was sleeping with three friends.

Prosecutor Duncan O’Donnell said the victim woke up to find she was being touched inappropriately. She turned the torch on her mobile phone to see Bradshaw who then pretended to be asleep.

In a victim personal statement the girl said she now sleeps with the light on and that Bradshaw needs help.

Bradshaw now of Weir Garden, Rayleigh, Essex pleaded guilty to assault by penetration on 9 August last year.

Jailing him, Judge Plumstead said: “You have harmed this young girl. I hope she will get over it. She did nothing to deserve it. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

He told Bradshaw that it was clear that he had a ‘unhealthy interest in young girls’

Bradshaw was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years
