Pervert spared jail after admitting importing sick child-like sex doll
A man who was arrested after importing a child-like sex doll into the UK has been spared jail.
Simon Glerum, 33, from Great Bardfield in Essex, was handed a 12-month suspended sentence at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday (29 September) after he admitted purchasing the sex doll online at a hearing in August.
Glerum was arrested at his home after Border Force officers intercepted the 3ft 3ins mannequine at Stansted Airport, which was on its way to his home address from Hong Kong.
He also admitted three counts of making indecent images of a child and one count of possessing a prohibited image after police officers seized a laptop containing a number of images of films showing child abuse — many of the most serious type.
Officers also found a fictional story describing the sexual abuse of a child, while items including a body stocking were also intercepted with the doll.
Last month another man was spared jail when he was handed a two-year suspended sentence after officers at Stansted intercepted a sex doll that had been designed look like a child aged under seven.
Glerum will now be subject to a five year sexual harm prevention order, be forced to a complete sex offender treatment programme and spend 20 days in rehabilitation.
The doll has been forfeited and will be destroyed.
