Paedophile who bought life-sized child sex doll downloaded image of youngster being raped but wasn’t jailed
A paedophile who bought a child sex doll and downloaded an image of a child being raped has been spared prison.
Jonathan Clark, 31, from Cardiff , admitted possessing indecent images and was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court .
Judge William Gaskell described the offending as “utterly contemptible”.
The court heard police found images of Categories A, B and C on his computer.
Prosecutors said there was one image of the most serious Category A, which showed a child being raped.
In his sentencing remarks, the judge noted: “You downloaded that for your sexual gratification.”
The court heard there were also a number of images at Category B, with one showing a man’s penis next to a child, and some at Category C.
Judge Gaskell told him: “You do not need me to tell you it is utterly contemptible any man should get sexual gratification by going on his computer to see images of children being abused.”
The court heard Clark bought a life-sized child sex doll. Judge Gaskell told the defendant: “That is a source of considerable anxiety in relation to your unhealthy interest in children.”
Clark, from St Fagans Road in Fairwater , admitted three counts of possessing indecent images of children.
The case was adjourned after the defendant answered back to the judge.
Judge Gaskell later told him: “You do not interrupt the judge when he is sentencing you. You stand there and remain silent.”
He told Clark he was at risk of going to prison but said he would give him an opportunity to address his offending behaviour in the community.
Clark was given a three-year community order and must complete 15 days of a rehabilitation activity, plus 200 hours of unpaid work.
A five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made.
