Convicted Accrington sex offender, Anthony Perry, sent back to prison

A convicted sex offender has been jailed for a second time for breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

Anthony Perry, 36, was given a 10 month custodial sentence for child sex offences in November 2018 after he was caught and exposed by paedophile hunting team ‘Fleetwood Enforcers’

Upon his release earlier this year, after serving half the sentence, he was made subject of a sexual harm prevention order and was ordered to comply with notification requirements in terms of possession of internet enabled devices and the use of any alias’.

At a sentencing in Preston Crown Court, the court heard how in June, following a police visit and investigation, Perry was found to have breached the order a total of five times as well twice failing to notify the police of two occasions where he had used a different name.

Prosecuting, David Clark, said: “A number of items were seized from Highfield House bail hostel, Accrington, where he was staying, along with some sim cards.

“He was found to have a Samsung Phone, a Vodafone, an X-Box, a PS4 and an Alcatel mobile phone.

“The defendant had also gone on dating sites and used two different names, King Heart Queen and Mr Brown without telling the police.”

Defending, Isobel Thomas said her client simply forgot to tell the police about the devices that he had, and accepted he should have informed them at the first opportunity.

She said he wished to apologise to the court and as he was finding it difficult to be incarcerated again, mitigated for as short a sentence as possible.

Sentencing Perry, of Lydia Street, Accrington, Judge Mark Brown said: “You received a prison sentence and shortly after your release you were seen by the police.

“The present offences were committed within about two months of your release.

“You were in possession of phones in respect of which you had not told the police and also an X-Box and a PS4.

“You were arrested and upon your arrest made full and frank admissions.

“It also came to light you had been on a dating site where you had used two alias names, to which you also pleaded guilty.”

Judge Brown sentenced Perry to 10 months in prison.
