Zachary Mockford jailed for failing to comply with suspended sentence order

A sex offender who breached his suspended sentence order has been jailed.

Zachary Mockford was given a nine-month sentence, suspended for two years, in January, after he was caught with hundreds of indecent images and videos.

But last week, the 24-year-old admitted breaching part of the requirements of his suspended sentence order.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing an extreme image, of bestiality, which he was caught with prior to his sentencing in January.

Southampton Crown Court heard how police found the image a month earlier, in December, but he had not been charged until after his sentencing.

The court was also told how Mockford had failed to comply with his original order, because he had been uncooperative during his rehabilitation sessions.

The court also heard how Mockford had failed to notify police of a change of address.

Sex offenders are required to notify police of a change of address within three days.

The court heard Mockford, of no fixed address, took five days to notify police.

Judge Peter Henry ordered Mockford to serve eight months of his sentence and added a further month for possession of the extreme image.

As previously reported in the Echo, Mockford at his address in Cranbury Road, Eastleigh was given his original sentence after using a registration-free chat site to search for people to send him images, some of children as young as four being abused.

Police found more than 200 videos and hundreds of illegal images, as well as more than 50 bestiality videos, on his devices.

Mockford pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images and one of making extreme images.
