Man who indecently assaulted children in Chertsey and Camberley jailed for nine years
A man who indecently assaulted two children in Surrey and sexually assaulted another woman has been jailed for nine years.
Kevin Friend was sentenced for the historic sex offences, that occurred in Chertsey, Camberley and Evesham, when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Friday (August 23).
The 60-year-old, of Weston Road, Evesham, Worcestershire, was convicted of indecent assault against two separate girls, one who was 14 and one who was 10, and one count of sexual assault against a 22-year-old woman.
He was found not guilty of a further seven counts of indecent assault.
In a victim impact statement, one of the victims said she hoped his conviction would help her move on with her life.
She said: “This stopped me moving forwards and I have lived in limbo until now.
“I’m just hoping that after this case is finished I can actually finally put this to bed. I’ve just moved on now I am the age that I am and I’ve learnt to live with what happened.”
Police have praised the bravery of the victims and encouraged anyone else who has experienced abuse to come forward.
The indecent assaults on children were committed in Chertsey and Camberley while the sexual assault of the woman was committed in Evesham, Worcestershire.
