Harlow man jailed for child sexual abuse images

A man who was found with more than 50,000 indecent images of children has been jailed for 16 months.

Police executed a warrant at Gerry Parnham’s home in Barn Mead, Harlow, on April 20, 2018.

During the warrant officers seized digital storage devices containing indecent images of children dating back to 1996.

In total there were more than 5,000 of the most serious Category A images, more than 5,500 Category B images, and more than 43,000 Class C images.

There were also nearly 750 films – totalling 127 hours – most of which were of the most serious Category A.

The 69-year-old was charged with three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possession of prohibited images of children.

He admitted the charges and at Chelmsford Crown Court on June 18 was jailed for 16 months.

He was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.

Essex Police were unable to provide a custody picture of Parnham.
