A 25-year-old man has been jailed for possession of more than 12,000 indecent images of children.
Jack Nicholls, from Lincoln, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown on August 13 to three years and three months imprisonment, put on the Sex Offenders Register for life and given an open ended Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was charged in July with six counts of Making Indecent Images of children, two counts of Possession of Indecent images of children and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. All offences took place between March 2018 and January 2020.
He was first arrested in January this year and was released on bail pending further investigations. His three mobile phones were seized and 9,852 indecent images were located on these devices.
The images ranged from Category A (the most serious) through to Category C.
While on bail, Nicholls continued to download images and was arrested for a second time on July 7th.
At this time two more phones were seized from him and contained a further 2,529 images.
Whilst examining his phones officers also discovered he had sent inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old girl in 2018 which placed him in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order handed to him in 2015.
